From a bleak past of having suffered untold episodes of a cruel war that’s more than a decade old, here stands Sri Lanka with a million pleas to envision an era that is conducive for everyone to live in peace and harmony, free of poverty, violence, discrimination, and exploitation. And here, Blue Wings has opened its wings with a vision to provide a better life for those in need, through a holistic approach, whilst respecting their values and subcultures. Many families cannot escape the vicious cycle of poverty without support due to the lack of opportunity. That is where the Blue Wings role comes into play, based on social work theory, values, and principles to ensure the rights of children and empower families within their communities. Given the present economic crisis that’s dawned upon Sri Lanka, the public and children at large are suffering at the hands of hunger, lack of medicinal needs, intermittent power cuts, and frequent closure of schools. It is at this juncture that Blue Wings hails to provide a wide range of services aimed at improving human well-being and social welfare across Sri Lanka. Blue Wings also aims to make it easier for Sri Lankan government initiatives to reach out to people in rural areas and improve the overall effectiveness of social welfare programs Our structures, activities, and policies may differ, but all NGOs are dedicated to their cause and carry out their functions to achieve their objectives for the betterment of lives.
